Nicholas Franck is a dedicated and passionate music educator from Perry Hall, Maryland. In his second year of study, Nick is pursuing a Master of Music (MM) in Music Education at the University of Maryland College Park. He holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Music Education from Towson University and is currently in his sixth year teaching instrumental music at Waugh Chapel Elementary School, in Odenton, Maryland. In this role, he finds great joy in helping students take their first steps on their musical journey.
Nick possesses an extensive background in the marching arts. As a performer, Nick marched five consecutive seasons with Cadets2 (2013) and The Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps (2014-2017). Beginning in 2018, Nick served as a high brass and visual instructor for several marching arts organizations, including Cadets2, The Cadets, Spirit of Atlanta, and the Hawthorne Caballeros. Most recently, Nick served as a high brass instructor with Dr. Mark Lortz and the Stevenson University Marching Band, operating in this capacity for six seasons. Locally, Nick enthusiastically assists a number of high school marching bands around the state of Maryland.
An active trumpet performer, Nick is frequently involved in a wide array of chamber, orchestra, and band performances in the Maryland community. He resides in Towson with his wife and their three beloved cats. Beyond music, Nick enjoys tackling home renovation projects and listening to podcasts.
Nick is eager to serve in the role of Graduate Assistant with the UMD athletic bands!
